3D2N Uyuni - Sajama N.P. - La Paz

Highlights:

DAY 1: UYUNI - JIRIRA -SALAR DE COIPASA -SABAYA - SAJAMA

Departure at 07:00 p.m. we will travel about 428 kilometers, this trip to Sajama Park has an approximate duration of 8 to 9 hours leaving from your hotel in Uyuni or the Salar we will start the trip in four wheel-vehicle towards Jirira and then enter the Salar de Coipasa, is approximately 70 km long by 50 km wide and has an area of 2,218 km², is the fifth largest salt flat in the world and the second largest salt flat in Bolivia, and entirely surrounds the Coipasa Lake. The rocks surrounding the salar are mainly volcanic including sporadic outcrops of sedimentary rocks to the west of the salar. Through the Negrojahuira gorge, about 20 km long, the Salar de Coipasa connects to the Salar de Uyuni.

Afterwards we head towards the town of Sabaya to reach the town of Sajama.                                                                                                                                             

During the rainy season we will not cross the Salar de Coipasa, but we will drive along National Route 27, and we will travel about 530 km, passing through the towns of Rio Mulatos, Sevaruyo, Pampa Aullagas and Turco until we reach the town of Sajama. 10 - 11 hours approximately.

Day: 2 SAJAMA - GEISERES- QUEÑUAS FOREST-LAGUNA HUAYÑAKHOTA-TERMALS-SAJAMA

This day we will make a tour of the main attractions of the National Park.

We will explore the beauty of Bolivia's first protected area. Highlights include the world's tallest Queñua forest (dwarf and endemic tree species), the Huayña Khota lagoon refuge of native wildlife and the opportunity to enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Sajama and other snow-capped mountains and to end our day, we will enjoy the healing properties of the hot springs, later we return to the lodge aboard our transport, just in time for dinner.

Day 3: SAJAMA - LA PAZ

After breakfast we will depart to La Paz, on the way back hopefully we can observe the Andean Suri, typical fauna of the area, there are also small herds of vicuñas, many of them hunted to the brink of extinction for its precious wool, (currently this species is protected), after this short visit we will continue our journey back to the city of La Paz.
